Pattachitra - Krishna Katha with dashavatar in Black and white

Description of product

Pattachitra Krishna Dashavatar National Awardee "Akshay Kumar Bariki"

Krishna, the eighth avatar of Vishnu, is considered to be a Sampoorna avatar or the complete incarnation where he manifests in the truest form. This black and white Pattachitra describes the glorious life of Lord Krishna, which, right from the time of his birth, was truly eventful Vasudeva taking the new born across the Yamuna, under the protection of a serpent, is awe inspiring. Young Krishna killing - and liberating these souls - the demons Putana, Trinavarta, Aghasura and Bakasura is just but a small facet of his legend; protecting the residents of Gokul from a severe storm by uprooting the Govardhan Parvata (mountain or conquering Kaliya (Kalinga) serpent and making Yamuna safe; the naughty side of Krishna where he is the Makhan Chor (butter thief) or teasing Gopikas; to the Raas Leela with Radha and Gopikas which teaches us about true Bhakti there is enough to learn from his life. The centre of the Pattachitra has Krishna Raas Leela and it also depicts Dashavatars, which as per Hindu religion are the ten incarnations of Lord Vishnu - the sustainer - who descends onto Earth to save human race. The Pattachitra has Lord Vishnu resting on the thousand hooded serpent - Sesha Naag - symbolising the infinite time (Ananta).
